Warburton Fashion Week 2016

I was thrilled to be part of the team delivering Australia’s most remote fashion week.

Warburton Fashion Week 2016 celebrates the strong history of styling up in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands, in remote Western Australia. This year the event was presented by partners Wilurarra Creative and Ngaanyatjarra Health Service.

Warburton Fashion Week 2016 featured hairdressing, styling- up, photography, a fashion parade, inma (cultural song and dance) and the launch of the new locally-produced fashion publication Alanya. My role focused on project direction, production and communications.

The event received great national media coverage; you can catch an ABC story with a short news video here and a whole lot of photos here.

Wilurarra Creative has run a fashion program since 2004. The community-driven fashion program has significant impacts on individual and community wellbeing, as well as developing new skills in event production, photography, styling, fashion parades, publications, performance and hairdressing.
