I was very excited to be able to return last month to Warburton Community, in the remote Ngaanyatjarra Lands, as part of a Wilurarra Creative project to create a fashion publication. It was an incredible opportunity to visit the community which has shaped so much of my thinking on social change hairdressing.
When I left one of my team told me ‘you’ll be back, these ranges will be calling you back here, you’ll miss them.’ And indeed she was right; being back in the desert brought home sharply how much I miss remote living. The big sky, the dry heat, I do indeed heart Ranges.
The publication has been put together by many fabulous people and will be coming out in 2016. It is going to blow your socks off.
